After four releases last year, Deepika Padukone has another three lined up for this year.

With an arguably hectic professional life, the actor has had very little time to spend with her family and unwind. We hear that, later this month, she is finally taking off for a holiday with them.

Deepika will leave for the US in the last week of May, and will be vacationing for a month. In order to get so much time off, she had to plan well in advance and adjust her shooting dates.

“She completed a month-long schedule for Farah Khan’s film on April 25. Last year, she was busy with the promotions of her four releases. She’s also been caught up with brand endorsements, so she hasn’t got much time with her family. Deepika felt she should take them on a holiday outside India in order to spend time with them,” says a source close to the actor.

The release of her film with Rajinikanth is what has held Deepika back from her holiday.

“She wants to be in the country when it releases. After a lot of delays, it is confirmed for May 23, so she planned the holiday after it to ensure that any pending work can be wrapped up,” explains the source.

Upon return, Deepika is set to start shooting for multiple projects again.

“She has Imtiaz Ali’s next with Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film with Ranveer Singh and Shoojit Sircar’s next with Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan,” says the source.

The actor’s spokesperson confirms the news, saying, “Deepika has had a hectic schedule, juggling between films and brand commitments. She planned her vacation much in advance as she wanted to take a break.”
