Director Homi Adajani has dismissed the rumours claiming his next project ‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’ is all set to premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). He says they will apply for it once the movie is ready.
The movie, which features Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles, is the story of a man in search of his childhood love Stefanie ‘Fanny’ Fernandes. It is based on a road trip set in Goa. The director says though TIFF is like a dream platform, they can apply for it one the movie’s edit is locked.
“As much as I wish it were true (the film premiering at Toronto), these are just rumours as Finding Fanny’s edit has not even been locked yet. We will apply once ready and keep our fingers crossed because the Toronto International Film Festival is a dream platform to showcase any film ,” Homi said.
‘Finding Fanny Fernandes’ is an English / Konkani satirical film, but the makers are also working on a Hindi version of the film.
The movie, which is is produced under Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan’s Illuminati Films, also features Ranveer Singh in a cameo role. He will essay Deepika’s husband in the movie.
The first promo of the movie will be out in July.
